[ VIDEO: AFTERNOON ]
[ The background of trees familiar to a certain town fills the video as Sakura remains perched high up on a branch of one. A bit of movement and there, finally the camera was angled on her. Despite the unsettling additions from Konoha, she seems to be in a pleasant mood. Finally having mastered her poker face, she leans back against the trunk with a knee pulled towards her chest. ]
A great deal of us rely on the PokeGear listing as a roster of those we know, but that's not the best resource. How many of you have been surprised at seeing someone younger or older than you last saw them? [ Or how many of them have seen the dead come back to life? ] The whole thing is unsettling when you think about it so I've given it a great deal of thought myself. When a person first arrives, they're already so overwhelmed with the situation that adding more pressure may do more harm than good. Wouldn't it be easier to assign an individual to speak with them to discover what they might have witnessed in their life to better protect them?
Well, I'm not sure about that myself. This world has a surprisingly low amount of counsel when it comes to problems of that nature. [ Is she just talking to be talking? Yes, but it's keeping her from being bummed out from other things. ] Anyway, I'd like to keep a roster of things for my own personal record so if you're an ally of mine from back home, do us both a favor and just tell me what you last remember.
[ Adding on strictly: ] In private. I'm not saying I'd be a counselor for that kind of thing, but it'd be nice to keep a personalized roster.
[ TEXT: NIGHT ]
[ Sometime later in the day (likely after she's had several conversations with others), Sakura will sit down to communicate once more with the network over the PokeGear. While she's neglected the world of Pokemon when it came to her peers (she's too distracted with other concerns), Sakura makes up for it by studying the vast amounts of information there is on the subject. Most of the time this takes place before she sleeps, suffering from late night and short bursts of rest. This comes in later in the evening, maybe at a hour that most would be asleep. ]
I've been working on better balancing my Pokemon party, but I'm not sure who would make a good choice for the sixth Pokemon.
I have a Happiny, Blaziken, Audino, Petilil, and Joltik.
That means I have the following types covered: normal, fire, grass, and electric.
What would you suggest to balance the team?
I'd like to capture or maybe even trade for a new one since I've had to take care of a lot of baby Pokemon as of recent.
Although I do read that's even better in the long run so maybe I'll just hatch a new one.
Experienced trainers, what do you think?
I'm looking to win.

So basically, you're suggesting that this place have official liasons, rather than a cluster of us yelling answers? I guess that could be doable.
Would they get paid for this?

[ But she can organize something like that. ] Maybe if there were volunteers or donations to start it off with. It'd be difficult with how randomized the departures are and well, who has time to teach new volunteers every time that happens?

Psychic, water, rock, steel or dark.
Your team seems more offense-based, save for Happiny who is defensive and I'm not sure about Audino. If you want something to round out your offense, you may want to try for a dark or psychic type. If you want something more well-founded to cover a lot of bases, water can help. For Pokemon on the more defensive side, rock and steel. Of course, if you really want to stomp your opponent and you're willing to train for a long time, try dragon types, or Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, Garchomp and Hydreigon, most of which are dragons anyway.

Dragon types?
Do they have any weaknesses?
When I find people discussing dragons here, they seem overwhelmed by their sheer power.

You might want to have something that can ward off Ground or Rock types, like Water. Maybe even keep your Normals from Fighting types, too. Water is good all around, and I know most go for Gyarados to cover that, but there are other options.
Something with Steel could be good for both offense and defense. Dragons can be hard to come by, as they're rare and they're priced a bit high from those who sell them, but they're seen in most teams.

Besides I'd like to have no weaknesses in my current team, but I suppose carting around two normal types might be debatable.
Are there any water Pokemon who can by chance use poison attacks or heal?

Also, do you wish to learn the last thing I remember? I believe you might already know the result if you're from war time.
shouldn't the ol granny be in bed GEEZ 1/2
People often fail to suspect the smaller ones to be capable of great feats, but you know how I feel about that.
As for the types, there's seventeen different ones.
I can type up my notes for you sometime.

As for that last bit, I'm the furthest from the timeline as far as I can tell.
Unless you've seen something new that I haven't.
You care to fill me in?

Hm... in theory, that seems like a fine idea, but I'm not entirely sure how well it would work in practice. Granted, I got the impression that you're suggesting something specific to each world represented among our population-something more general would probably work perfectly well.
no subject
[ Things sounding pleasant while the execution takes too much hard work. ] A recent reminder just encouraged me to share my thoughts on it. While it'd be neat if something were to come of it, I highly doubt there's much anyone can do.
More general though? You think that'd work with the crowd we've got here? Aliens, mercenaries, talking animals... It'd be tough to find someone who can handle all of that.

Get rid of one of them in your main party.
Lucario is fighting/steel so you'll have an advantage over a few of the more obnoxious types.
Lapras would be useful too since it'll cover water/ice.
A good psychic-type sweeper would be a good one to have as well.
Balance out the types you lack by teaching elemental TMs to those on your team that can learn them.
Train a couple of extra Pokemon with different typing to rotate into your main 6 as needed.
[ the benefits of Akito working in Pokémon Centres is ALL THE INTEL to add to his extensive Red/Blue knowledge. which Agito uses to his advantage aw yeahh. ]

Aren't normal types pretty versatile when it comes to a variety of move sets?
[ Not exactly eager to pick a fight, she is curious as to why people wouldn't keep more than one. Plus they both heal! ]
You can train more than six Pokemon?
I'm not sure if that's wise.
Wouldn't they stop listening to me after a while?

I'd switch the Audino out of your team once the Happiny evolves. Normal types are versatile, but it's good to have a bit more variety. Right now you've gotta watch out for rocks, water, ground, fire, fighting, ice, bug, and flying.
Your Blaziken, Joltik, and Petilil compliment each other pretty well. Electric and grass are great against water, grass is good against rock and ground, and fire incinerates ice and bug types with ease. Still, I'd recommend something sturdy like a Metagross.
Can't really go wrong with steel types in general, and dragon types tend to bulldoze just about anything that doesn't know Ice Beam. Dragonite's got flying type moves, and it learns pretty much everything.
But I guess it really boils down to your battle style. What works for me won't work for everyone.

Sorry, but what's that?
My PokeDex isn't very complete.
[ Seeing as she's been here for a month and has spent most of that time on figuring out the various shinobi from her world, Sakura's lacking in the most vital part of the Pokemon journey. ]
Is there a good counter to Ice Beam?

[Aside from the Goldenrod City theme playing, there is nothing about the wall behind Snake that might hint where the scaled man is. He has an Ekans draped over his shoulders, hissing his name at Snake. Snake's face is mostly expressionless, save a small hint of surprised.]
People of other times can arrive here?... says John

As for clothing, he's wearing his pink yukata, hita-ite tied loosely about his neck.]
Coming back from the dead is not always a new thing for this place, I can say that having personal experience with it. As for your team... An ice or water type might be just the thing to balance your team out and have all the bases covered. Water can take out Rock and Fire easily while Ice can handle Grass, Dragon, and Flying. They're very versatile.
[After his words he shifts the gear to his Dewgong, who happily chimes in with a loud cry of her name but in almost a chirped tone.] Akemi here has been pulling her weight through most battles while the rest of mine grow stronger to try and hold their own.
no subject
Y-Yeah... Sorry, sorry. I was distracted by something else.
[ Not that it's difficult to figure out just what that something is, Sakura shifts the topic back to Pokemon. That's an easy topic to learn about others and so far it's treated her well. ]
I've been told there are Water types who can learn healing spells. Those seem to strike my interest, but a lot of work is required to get one. Not that I'm lazy, but there's a number of other things a new trainer should occupy themselves with first.
Oh, that's a... Dewgong?

TEXT: Night
Well, you also having a Fighting Type and Bug Type too. Blaziken is a Fire/Fighting and Joltik is Electric/Bug.
I'm going to have to agree with everyone's suggestions that you... swap out one of your normal types for something else though. I mean, if you're going for winning battles instead of sticking with Pokémon you have for a while.
[After all, she knew that her team had a pretty big weakness to Electric types, but she couldn't really bear to put pokémon that she's been using for two years on the 'bench'. It was hard enough doing that for her Pidgeot.]
But if you don't go ahead and do that, than whatever type you pick should be something that is strong against Fighting types. You don't want to have half of your team able to be taken out by a single type.
But even then, you can teach your pokémon moves that are strong against the types they're weak against. That might be just as important as having a variety of types for your pokémon.
no subject
Besides, they're pink. Hikari can understand that, right? ]
That's right.
Pokemon are so versatile that it would be easy to teach them to overcome their weaknesses by being able to encounter them.
A bit of strategy would sway any Pokemon battle.
It'll be hard to contend with experts on the subject of Pokemon this late in, but there's so many out there that even a newbie can stand a chance.

im not really surprised when people are from before or after me!
but time shenanigans are my bread and butter i believe the saying goes
so it would be sort of silly if they threw me off at this point
as to my suggestions
water and flying might be good
especially since youll find fly and surf useful later on!
i can supply you with various eggs of either type if need be even
no subject
I'm afraid I don't understand the term.
[ It sucks living out in the middle of the woods?? ]
If I guessed at it, that means you're familiar with time shenanigans?
So there's nothing that would surprise you?
Even seeing the dead alive or friends a few years younger?

[voice, because AJ can't fingers.]
You may also wanna look into teachin' your Happiny Shadow Ball so you've got an attack ghosts are weak against, since the two types normally can't hurt each other.
no worries <3
[ Wait, that came out awkwardly and she tries to mask it with a laugh. ]
Shadow Ball, is that an available TM at a store or do I offer to fight a specific gym leader for it?
