Life kind of sucks without Naruto around to keep her fully distracted. Sakura's come to discover that maybe all this time she's been using him as just that instead of coming to terms with everything that's happened with the war back home. Her life has been fairly easy up until that point because no matter what, she could always return home at the end of a long mission and kick off her shoes to relax only to be harped at by her mother. That was alright, but this? Being sent off to another world without any indication of what's happened? Difficult. It was too difficult for her to overcome. The dead were alive, the enemy was now their ally, and the guilt that came from knowing all of this was too much for her.

Add in the fact that Naruto's been out in a coma for the past few days and Sakura's mood has completely tanked. Not that she's willing to show it, in fact this is the first bout of privacy she's had in a while. Refusing to leave Naruto's side, his parents had been kind enough to accommodate that, but everyone needs to wash off sometime. This is why she's in the bath tub late at night with her PokeGear in hand. See, she comes from a world where technology isn't all that accessible to others her age so things like accidental recordings or slippery electronics are foreign to her.

Not for much longer will this subject be unfamiliar to her.

    [ VIDEO: LATE NIGHT ]
[ This video abruptly starts from the floor of a bathroom (easy enough to tell because there's a rug resting on linoleum and what appears to be porcelain nearby) with a blood-curdling scream. Splashes can be heard and soon enough there's shoulders along with sopping wet pink hair plastered along it leaning over the PokeGear. ]

P-Pervert! [ She's screaming at someone or something nearby as the splashes continue. Is her attacker in the bathtub now? Bubbles are flying everywhere in a convenient manner just to keep anyone from seeing anything sensitive on her body as she scoots back out of sight. ] I'll kill you! Where's that curling iron?! I'll fry you so hard you'll zap right back out that window!

[ Suddenly, something even more horrifying than the thought of a pervert comes into view. It leans over the side of the bathtub and points a fin towards the PokeGear as though to warn her that this was live.

Unfortunately, it doesn't last for long before a bar of soap smacks it back into the water with a loud thud. But hey Naruto, she found your mom's missing fish! A shame he's not here to have an excuse to jump in to 'save the day'. ]

    [ TEXT: EARLY MORNING ]
Seems as though a message was sent out from my PokeGear last night.
Disregard it.
Can anyone tell me if a Feebas is worth keeping around?
I'm torn between frying it up for lunch today or kicking it out.
Seems pretty useless all around.

By the way, has there even been a time when someone's failed to wake up from a coma within a week?
I'd like to know for medical reasons.
This world is strange when it comes to what's proper and what's not with the human body.
Please advise only if you're familiar with it.
No speculation today.

Magikarp is just a fish as well, and, well - Ore got his name from the Oretoise, they're super tough creatures from back home. But even they can be eaten!

I tried and tried, and the only food I've gotten from any Pokemon is ice from Scoop. And ice isn't food!

[ Time for the obvious question then: ]

If Pokemon aren't edible, where does all of this food come from?

I haven't really thought about it.
[Spoilers: Vanille has. She has wondered idly if this world has gods like Cocoon did, fal'Cie tending to the natives, giving them food - so the Pokemon can live in blissful ignorance.
But like hell she is admitting that to anybody.]

I haven't seen any yet, but maybe there's other creatures off on the meat farms?

[ But pink haired girls theory hour!! ]

Where are these meat farms?
I don't think I've ever seen them in my travels.
Guess this is what happens when you stick to the routes and cities.

[shush later
well this might be going into theorystuff anyhow.]

There's other regions, right? So they might not even be in Johto/Kanto.

Or, these natives are hiding Pokemon-eating-methods from us. Which doesn't make sense, but what does? I mean, the fishes can breathe out of water. Not much we learned at home is helpful here.

So you think all of the food is being brought in from another area?
Seems kind of weird and a waste of resources.
This world does treat things strangely though so plausible enough.

Threatening to eat this guy is pointless in the end, isn't it?

It is useless.
You could release it, though!
Unless it can swim though the air. Then it might want to follow you, and then you'd need to train it.

You've noticed how odd this place is too? It's a little scary... I tried asking at the store, but they didn't tell me where it came from, either. :( Which, I think, is the oddest thing about the meat.

I think from now on I'm going to stick to vegetables and noodles.
There's no telling what's in the meat.

[ Sakura suspects something darker. People can 'return' home briefly through a comatose state, but when they leave, their bodies disappear. Fairly suspicious and instinctively what she thinks of first. ]

I can't get rid of it anyway.
It belonged to someone who's come back.
Except she doesn't remember being here in the first place.
Kind of weird, isn't it?

That's a good idea - but I'm not going to give up meat straight away. You need meat to live, after all!!!
[yay for hunter/gatherer, Vanille does not know about living without meat forever and ever.]
...One of those people who've forgotten?
That's weird, yup. I haven't met anybody like that - at least, none of my friends have turned up like that. It'd be sad, to have somebody forget like that... I'm sorry for your/her loss.

[...like fang. whoops vanille is still thinking about canon shit as she types.]

Maybe there are supplements here?
Vitamins? Shakes? That sort of thing.
Medicine is a difficult field to master here, but there has to be something out there.

I suppose it would be sad.
This was the second time I've seen it happen, so I'm less sensitive to the matter.
You haven't seen it at all?
I wonder if this is just something that happens with people from my home.

I've never heard of those sort of things - well, I do know about medicine, but... do you think the natives are hiding things about medicine, too? There's so many Nurses for example, but they look the same! :o

Not with anybody from my world - and only one of my friends has vanished, and he hasn't come back. All I have to remember him is a bitty little Joltik.
I wonder how I should greet him back if he's forgotten...

That nurse thing is weird. [ Understatement of the year. ]
I don't know about the medicines.
I've been researching Pokemon antidotes myself in order to try to make something stronger for human use.
Just in case someone's stupid enough to breathe in toxic fumes from a Pokemon.

Greeting people when they return is rough.
Just think about how you'd like to be told.
Would you rather never find out from your allies and instead have some stranger you've never met before tell you?
I'm reluctant myself, but that's because there's a number of us here who usually fill them in before I do.
Playing the role of support, I just offer to fill in any other questions they might have.
