[ The background of trees familiar to a certain town fills the video as Sakura remains perched high up on a branch of one. A bit of movement and there, finally the camera was angled on her. Despite the unsettling additions from Konoha, she seems to be in a pleasant mood. Finally having mastered her poker face, she leans back against the trunk with a knee pulled towards her chest. ]

A great deal of us rely on the PokeGear listing as a roster of those we know, but that's not the best resource. How many of you have been surprised at seeing someone younger or older than you last saw them? [ Or how many of them have seen the dead come back to life? ] The whole thing is unsettling when you think about it so I've given it a great deal of thought myself. When a person first arrives, they're already so overwhelmed with the situation that adding more pressure may do more harm than good. Wouldn't it be easier to assign an individual to speak with them to discover what they might have witnessed in their life to better protect them?

Well, I'm not sure about that myself. This world has a surprisingly low amount of counsel when it comes to problems of that nature. [ Is she just talking to be talking? Yes, but it's keeping her from being bummed out from other things. ] Anyway, I'd like to keep a roster of things for my own personal record so if you're an ally of mine from back home, do us both a favor and just tell me what you last remember.

[ Adding on strictly: ] In private. I'm not saying I'd be a counselor for that kind of thing, but it'd be nice to keep a personalized roster.

    [ TEXT: NIGHT ]
[ Sometime later in the day (likely after she's had several conversations with others), Sakura will sit down to communicate once more with the network over the PokeGear. While she's neglected the world of Pokemon when it came to her peers (she's too distracted with other concerns), Sakura makes up for it by studying the vast amounts of information there is on the subject. Most of the time this takes place before she sleeps, suffering from late night and short bursts of rest. This comes in later in the evening, maybe at a hour that most would be asleep. ]

I've been working on better balancing my Pokemon party, but I'm not sure who would make a good choice for the sixth Pokemon.
I have a Happiny, Blaziken, Audino, Petilil, and Joltik.
That means I have the following types covered: normal, fire, grass, and electric.
What would you suggest to balance the team?
I'd like to capture or maybe even trade for a new one since I've had to take care of a lot of baby Pokemon as of recent.
Although I do read that's even better in the long run so maybe I'll just hatch a new one.
Experienced trainers, what do you think?
I'm looking to win.

I guess this perfect team composition ordeal is a lot harder than most let on.
There's not that many hybrid Pokemon out there to choose from, is there?

It honestly depends on what kind of dual type you're looking for. What is it you want?

Poisonous Pokemon seem to strike up my interest in conversation.
A steel and ice Pokemon might be powerful as well.

There's no steel/ice unfortunately. A lot of poison-type Pokemon meanwhile can be found almost everywhere. One of the most common families is the Zubat line, found usually at night.

Those bats are a real pain.
I'd rather look for something less common.
A rare poisonous type that doesn't share many moves with other ones.

[ No steel/ice? Bummer, she'll have to go back to the drawing board or in this case, the thick notebook she keeps at her side. ]

The two Nidoran lines: Poison at first, and if you decide to evolve them to their highest forms, they become Poison/Ground

Stunky: Half dark, found only in Ilex Forest as far as I know.

Skorupi: Half-bug but turns half-dark instead when evolved. I've seen it around Ecruteak and Violet mostly, but there are some in other routes.

Bulbasaur: Half-grass, found mostly in Ilex Forest.

I don't know enough about them, as my only poison-type right now is my Ariados, which is common enough.

Thank you for the information.
I'm interested in the two Nidoran lines just because their evolutions between male and female are intriguing when compared to gender differences in other Pokemon.
Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Ariados.
Do you care to share some information on that?

Of course.

Ariados is the fully evolved form of a Spinarak, which you may have seen enough of at night. It is half-bug, half-poison, therefore is doubly resistant to grass and fighting types, but weak to four types (flying, fire, psychic, rock).

The species is not as hardy as other Poison types and does not have much unique or powerful moves, but it does spin very sturdy webbing that I've found can be used for things other than battle.

Is that a spider?

[ Leave it to her to get a bit squeamish at the thought. It isn't bugs that bother her (mostly), but for some reason 'spider limbs' bother her. ]

Netting for one.
I can think of a few uses for it.
Is it sticky like other webs?

[He doesn't know what a spider is, w h o o p s sorry Sakura. He just knows people call it a spider because that's what's people on the street call his Pokemon.]

Yes, he is.

The silk is sticky whenever he wants it to be, but it's strong and sturdy as well for webs to hold their form.

[ Oh, she gets that feeling. Fortunately, they have spiders in ninja world. ]

It sounds as though it can be a valuable resource for a traveling trainer.
Do you know if it's flammable too?

[ All these questions!! She's not sorry to be a know it all at all. ]

Yes, it is. It still seems to be silk after all, even though it's a Pokémon-spun silk.

[Hope is totally fine with all the questions. Likes answering them in fact because it was practically his job back at home.]

Though I don't recommend standing too close when it happens, or at least not letting a fire Pokémon have the honors of lighting it on fire. [Happened once, FOR SCIENCE. His Vulpix nearly lit him and the poor six-legged spider on fire.]

[ Good, because she's been hankering for a good one-on-one conversation with someone who can keep up. ]

Understood.
I'm curious if it would be good for torches when you're out in the wild or in a cave.
If it doesn't burn away too quick, it'd be very valuable for a traveler.

It still burns a little too quickly to be much help in a dark setting, I think. It's still made by a half-bug Pokémon, and they're vulnerable to fire.

Personally, I think you're better off using the Pokémon itself to navigate through the dark.

I don't have any bug Pokemon yet, but that should be an easy fix.
This world is crawling with them. [ Aughh--that pun wasn't intentional. ]

Considering their senses are very different from other Pokémon? They may help in other things. And Spinarak and Ariados can only be found in the dark, which implies that they are nocturnal creatures and are developed specifically for moving about at night.

Good luck in searching for a Pokémon, anyway.
