What's the matter, Sasuke-kun? [ Oh, she's around alright.
At any other given time she may have reprimanded him for cursing at her, she can pick up on the signs of a person in pain easily enough to know that's the source of his frustration rather than herself. ]
Never mind that.
[ The sounds in the background give away her intent to rush out to meet him. ] Where are you?
[ He's not terribly enthused about having to contact her, but this is one of those times when he's just got to suck it up and shelve the pride. And she's going to make him think?! Well, at least it's a momentary distraction from the problem... Does she want an exact location? He's not sure he can think that clearly, but he'd almost made it back from where he'd started, not that saying that would be of much help. ]
Not... too far from the park? [ A pause, trying to take in his surroundings. ] Near the school in an alley.
[ He'd needed to get off the road in case anybody else passed by, so that was as good a place as any. ]
And a hospital is out of the question, so don't even suggest it.
[Sasuke. Her mind floods with emotions, a mixture of concern and fear both threaten to knock the sense out of her. Being able to help Sasuke when he was hurt was one of the reasons she worked so hard at her studies but at the same time there's no telling how earnest he was being in his request. Was this a trick to get her away from Sarada so that he could do something to her?
No, Sasuke wouldn't do that. Sarada was his blood--if anything, he was more likely to hurt her than he was to hurt his child, right?
There's no time to hesitate. She can tell that much from his breathing. This also can't be the worst she's seen him in so there's that small bit of relief she can take comfort in. ]
I'm on my way. [ The pause may have been long enough for him to notice, but she hopes it doesn't come up.
Tucking the Cerevice under the strap of her bra to keep it turned on and near, she listens on the way just in case his condition changes. ] How bad is it?
[ He knows his face is probably bruised where he'd taken a blow to his nose and left cheekbone, that it hurts to move his left arm at all, that he's got plenty of cuts and bruises and his right ankle popped after a hard landing. He knows he'd heard something that sounded like a popping or banging, then he'd felt like he'd been pushed from behind, as if he'd stumbled... and as soon as the adrenaline rush began to fade, it felt like he'd just been skewered with something through his lower back and left arm. But as far as how bad it was, he actually doesn't know because it's better than having his chest blown out, but worse than the fight with Danzo. But there's a lot of blood? ]
I don't think it's all that bad? I've been through worse... but I can't see some of it... and there's a fucking hole in my arm.
[ He falls silent for a moment, trying to force himself to breathe a little slower so that it isn't as painful. ]
[ Keeping him conscious was an easier task than she thought it would be. Sasuke always seemed to not want to talk but right now he was saying more than she could bring herself to say. In the meantime, she would mentally steel herself for helping Sasuke through whatever it was he had gotten himself into. ]
Fired..? [ It slips out before she bites her tongue, afraid to speak on it further. His job. Something must have happened and in turn they must have tried to hurt him? Unsurprising but it did make her blood boil a bit. ]
Hold on, I'm here.
[ Sakura doesn't waste time with cutting the call, leaving that to him as she jumps down into the alley to join him, first aid kid in hand. ]
[ Talking is a distraction from the pain, and trying to concentrate on words keeps him awake. It's nowhere near like when Madara had stabbed him, but that had been lethal and he's pretty sure this isn't. It just feels like it is.
When he hears the sound of her feet hitting the ground nearby, he lifts his head, attempting to focus on her figure before making an attempt to stand. Even now, he's still forcing himself to speak, because it's keeping his mind off of everything else. ]
I got... [ A hiss of breath as the movement pulls at injuries he doesn't understand how he got. What the hell did they hit him with? ] ...sick of going to the pleasure district... but he refused to meet elsewhere, so I killed him. [ Okay, there may have been an argument that turned into a fight, but the outcome was the same. ] Apparently they didn't like that.
At any other given time she may have reprimanded him for cursing at her, she can pick up on the signs of a person in pain easily enough to know that's the source of his frustration rather than herself. ]
Never mind that.
