Mahogany Town is pretty great all around, don't you think? [ Just a couple weeks ago, she was back in New Bark Town and she's made it this far? ] I guess it's an unfair advantage knowing people who can use Fly and get you from place to place pretty quick. No complaints here though!

[ It might have been difficult to tell where she was had she not announced it. There's aluminium bleachers stacked up behind her and she's picked up a new shirt with longer sleeves. Not that she'll need it for much longer as spring is approaching, but it's nice to wear at a skating rink. ]

There's a couple people I know who have been here for a long time, like, long enough to actually grow here? What happens when they return to our world? Wouldn't someone back home notice the changes? [ Of course they would, everyone in Konoha has an astute memory and something being off physically is a red flag that something's up. A red flag that can't be ignored easily. ] It's a concern because a few of my comrades have returned home after living in this world long enough to change physically so I'm concerned about their fate.

Doesn't it change our future? Wouldn't I remember something since I'm ahead of them in the timeline?

This topic must come up a lot here when people get sent home, but I've wondered it myself since... well, I left? [ But she didn't return home. This is something she's not interested in making public information however, so she just frowns in favor of an explanation. ]

Oh, I think Naruto's finally got his skates on. Time to see what's so fun about sliding around on ice--but hey, will you leave me your answers? Just a little should be enough to give me peace of mind.

I wouldn't be surprised if there was some Pokemon that could reverse time like that. In that case I'm pretty sure you could be made to..."ungrow" and forget everything you learned or knew in Johto once you return to your world.

Sorry, but I don't think there's a straightforward answer for what's going on here. It's really impractical to put your faith in that idea, I know, but you sort of have to muster up a lot of faith in this world.

[ So what? Do they just exist in this world where time doesn't flow properly for them when they leave it? She's asking Sakura to place her faith in something she can't wholly believe in, but denying her seems to be rude for the time being. ]

There's gotta be another theory to it--an angle or something that's commonly overlooked. [ Yeah, maybe there's someone here who just doesn't bother to talk about it due to the approach others take. ] A lot of things here are impractical, but you're right on that.

It takes a lot of faith to not get frustrated over these matters.

[She knows it sounds totally stupid, just like the reactions of what talking about her own world has gotten. Maka's own practical mind has been puzzling over the mystery frequently but finding nothing concrete (that is, nothing that sounds basically like "it's magic")]

Yeah...it does. You know how I said that someone from my world said that I never even left? He was from the "future" and was only here for a brief time, as in, only here for one day and then gone just like that! I feel like something similar to that happened before, but something's messed around with my memories. Ugh, it's really frustrating.

But if there's another angle...I'd be interested to hear about it, honestly. All I've really heard from anyone else is "that's just the way things are" and it's not very satisfying, and having to regurgitate it to someone newer feels awful and not comforting at all.

[Well...depending on who it is she's talking to, anyway. For someone that's died like one, erm, associate she spoke with recently maybe it's comforting in a really backwards way.]

I've witnessed a number of these incidents personally. [ A lot of ninjas have come and gone in her time here before--not to mention some of them are from the past. ] Our teacher was here as a kid while I was gone and that sort of thing.

[ Also magic doesn't exist in ninja land so naturally she's trying to apply some kind of logic to it only to come up empty handed each time. ]

Just the way things are... it's frustrating, but if that's what it is, that's what it is.

I wonder about who or what brought us here sometimes. They can't be enjoying all this hassle going on with people coming in and out and the changes that come with that. [Lil miss 'by the book' can't comprehend a level of sadism like that.] Maybe that's why those comas happen sometimes, so the forces that be can take weight off their workload.

Someone...like a person? Or maybe some kind of creature, I think there's been mention of "legendary" Pokemon around here. But then why would it keep pulling people in on purpose? There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why people are brought here, there's absolutely no logic to even some people being brought here. It sounds more like something broke and nobody's bothered to fix it because they're incompetent, or can't fix it, I guess.

The legendary Pokemon seems to be a sound theory... there's so much about them that remains unknown and what we've seen of Pokemon here proves they're capable of great things.

[ No one that can fix it? It does explain why the selection seems jarring at best, but if the source remains unknown. ]

Hehe...yeah, part of the adventure in this world seems to be trying to solve all the mysteries behind it too.

At least this is a relatively friendly world. If there are other worlds out there, I'm sure there's worse we could have been brought to.

Yeah--there's got to be plenty of worlds out there that are caught up in wars and various other conflicts. At least here it's just Team Rocket and figuring out how to overcome the strange hurdles that get thrown at us.

Speak of the devil, one Goomy Bloober pops up into view at the mention, gurgling curiously.]

Hi, Donald! Speaking of Bloobers, this one's mine. Just another little mystery for us here, I guess.

They're definitely a mystery.

[ Everyone's complained about them so far, but they seem to intrigue her more than anything else. ]

Still don't have any ideas on them, do we?

No, nothing but theories right now, but everyone seems to agree that they're a lot like slugs and they make a big mess if they get out of water. I think they're pretty cute, though.

They remind me a bit of a slug so I can't argue that, but I've seen another kind of slug Pokemon here--the fire one? They don't look too similar.

[This one accessorizes with skulls, let's face it, she's weird.]

You mean Slugma? Yeah...and that evolves into something with a shell, so it turns into a snail? I don't think that's entirely how that works. There's also Shellos, which might be some kind of sea slug, at least that stays consistent as it evolves. It makes me wonder if Bloober will evolve into anything eventually, nobody seems to have had much luck with figuring out their moves or training them.

Wonder if anyone's tried leaving one alone with a Ditto. [ It's a joke really, but... ]

Maybe they're not Pokemon--you know, what if they're like what we are to this world? Something foreign.

Huhn...I wouldn't have thought of it that way, I was figuring they were from a region we haven't discovered yet--Johto and Kanto can't be the only places in this world, right?

[A sigh, she tugs on a bit of hair absently.]

Whatever the case, I'm sure if we met with some of the other professors they could shed some light on that.

It's possible . . . If they're from another region, why is this the first time anyone's seeing them? If it was a flock that's migrated before due to the weather, then we would have seen them before.

Unless hm. [ Tapping her chin in thought. ]

What if something else caused them to come here? Maybe their home was overrun by another Pokemon type or some kind of disaster we haven't heard about took place.

Ohhh--yeah that's a really good point, why did they come here now? They kinda just swarmed and then left, the natives protecting the Bloobers said it was their "migration path" and we shouldn't disrupt them, but they're saying that like they weren't disrupted anyway since nobody's ever seen them before.

What if something really bad happened in the region they're from--or a storm there blew them here? They don't seem to mind water very much, even if they don't act like Water types.

Is that what the natives said? If it's never happened before, how could they have known it was their migration path?

[ It sounds more suspicious the more she uncovers about it. ] If they don't mind water too much, maybe it was something else? A drought?

A drought's possible...but then how far away is the place they came from? And are they trying to go back now, is that why they disappeared off again?

[She pinches the bridge of her nose and sighs.]

Man, I like thinking about answers to questions, but this feels a whole lot bigger than me.

Well, it's definitely something to keep in mind for later on.

[ There are so many things it could have been. Construction obstructing their usual migration path which might force them to change it slightly before heading back. A drought or any kind of natural disaster that might have scared them off. Heck, even these regions just might not have what they need in order to sustain their lifestyle so they might have returned out of desperation. ]

Animals and Pokemon are too strange to understand at times. Just tuck it away and if you see something relevant later on, it might be related.

Yeah...hopefully more information will come up later, I'm sure the professors are intent on finding out just what's going on with these Bloobers.
