Melodic music fills the ear of a girl who hears better than most and that alone is what snaps her fully alert. When she last thought of her own free will, there was a battle raging on around her with no time to think of the simpler things in life like music and friends she'll never see again. There's no familiar warmth of chakra that belonged to another and Kakashi--what happened to him? So many unanswered questions plague at her mind, but the most important of them all? Where was she? Normally she might be able to pick up on a powerful Genjutsu before, but this didn't feel like anything she's studied before. Her body felt unlike her own as she felt something sink to the bottom of her stomach.

    [ VIDEO A: EARLY MORNING ]
I don't understand. [ An onslaught of helplessness plagues Sakura and so when the PokeGear is nudged on by accident (she doesn't bother to treat her "belongings" carefully since they aren't her own), she's unaware that the scene is being shown live to so many others. ] This isn't supposed to be... None of this makes sense... I need to return... Naruto--[ The name spoken with more worry and fondness than ever before. ]--just hang on.

[ All of these phrases come in broken and cut abruptly at times, the pack shifting with her movements. When it jerks suddenly and pops out from the pack being placed roughly onto the ground, there's a teenager girl who looks more worn than anything else (those dark spots under her eyes aren't doing much for her looks) clad in a green vest staring down at the PokeGear as though it were a foreign object. To most newcomers in New Bark Town, it usually is foreign. ]

This is? [ Shaking her head, she picks it up and places it back into the pack without knowing any better. A shout for her attention though might keep her from dismissing it entirely. ]

    [ VIDEO B: EVENING ]
[ Once Sakura's discovered more about this world (as well as the inevitable "no escape" aspect), it is only appropriate that she gives a more proper introduction. This time though she's without the scratches and scrapes (they're just covered up by her hair and bandages) and she's changed into a fresh pair of clothes. Also of note is the fact her hair is loose with nothing holding it back now, no for now she looks like more peaceful than she did this morning. Holding the PokeGear, it seems she's at least aware of it's purpose now. ]

Hey there, I'm new to this place so I'll ask for your patience in advance if that's alright. My name is Sakura Haruno and there's no need to explain the situation to me--I understand. [ Boldly declaring her name? No, she just knows the PokeGear gives away her full registered name anyway so there's no point in concealing it. ] We're all stuck here no matter what's going on back at home, but if there are theories as to how we can return, let's hear them. I have the time.

[ Plenty of time now, she might add if it didn't feel attention seeking in any way. ] Curiously, do people talk about where they come from here? I'm interested in hearing about other villages if you're not too busy. Huh, that's kind of a personal question too, isn't it? Sorry, sorry. [ Waving her free hand apologetically. ] Been a while since I've had a normal conversation so I'm acting all weird. Anyway, it'd be nice if someone replied to this... anyone, anyone at all really.

[ While she did start off headstrong with her broadcast, by the end of it her voice cracks to indicate how feeble she really is. There's a reason she's not outright traveling like most do on their first day. Behind her is a small room with an ordinary looking bed--an indication that she's retiring somewhere within the starter town for the evening. ]

[Not quite as insistent as her teammate, he doesn't catch her immediately, having to go back to find both posts on the network. Judging from her attire and sense of urgency, she can't be from too much further than himself or Naruto. Relatively speaking. From the war, at least-- there's a difference of years between nearly everyone else.]

As most here find themselves from different places, their respective homes can be a common point of discussion.

[But the two of them don't have worry about that, do they? It's good to see the face of a comrade. As such, he'll nod in acknowledgment.]

Sakura.

[ Having been informed of his presence, Sakura can only give a nod in return as a greeting. There's relief that floods her face as her expression softens. ]

Have you been well? I hear you're traveling with Naruto instead of the others?

Naruto and I arrived shortly after one another, and have been travelling together since. [He's been filling your role in your absence, Sakura. Would you like him to relinquish it to you, or are they going to share Naruto-sitting duty?] We split up from the others two weeks ago.

[More like they were left behind... plus there was Yumi to look after. Large groups are dynamic and changing and there was no question that Sasuke would go after Itachi.]

[ If he gives it up, then who will be there to witness all of the beatings Naruto receives on a daily basis? ]

That's good to hear. [ Really, she sounds as though she may cry any minute now. ] It'd be rotten if Naruto was left alone in this world...

So thank you for looking after him.

[True, true. He'll stick around-- like he has these past few weeks. Although Shino isn't a close teammate to him like Sasuke or Sakura, it only made sense for comrades to band together. Which is why he supposes travel arrangements for her will be underway soon, if not already.]

... He is glad to see you.

[All he has to do is look at Naruto's expression to know that.]

I'm glad to see him too. [ She can admit that to an ally, can't she? ]

To see everyone here. When I first woke up, I thought I was alone and trapped in some strange... well, you know how it is. I'm sure every one of us went through the same path of thought.

... Arguably, you are still trapped. [You're

welcome.
] But the stay is tolerable with company. There are things you can do to busy yourself, here.

[Upon first arriving, Shino wanted nothing more than to return immediately to the battlefield. He hadn't know the time spent here was inconsequential to the war's outcome. For once, he's glad to know that the rest of the village won't miss his absence.]

[ What a downer! ] That does make it a little easier.

No one's really found a way to return home, have they? I'd hate the idea of just settling down in a strange world while I have duties back home, but there's nothing else that can be done in the meantime.

If one were to return home, they will disappear without warning. [Or fall into a coma. But we'll save that for another day.] Why do I know this? Because... there are cases of being brought back a second time with the memories to confirm it.

[He could understand that feeling, Sakura. This place is like a reprieve from the events at home, but they have things to do! However:]

You will come to adapt.

We always do.

[ They were raised to adapt to the situation no matter what happens, so to hear it from someone she knows soothes her in a way she can't exactly describe. ]

Thank you for the reminder. Sometimes it's easy to get caught up in the moment and forget everything you've learned.

People disappear here without warning? That's disheartening--how do you know MIA individuals aren't abducted in some manner? There's no way to tell the difference between a missing-nin and someone who's just gone back home, is there?

[Even with the strongest and most unshakeable front, nothing is ever absolute. It's good to have people to keep oneself grounded. Shino may not be the one most would first think to turn to-- but he tries to be there to support his friends, just as he knows they would do for him when he's not forgotten anyway.]

If they have, they have no recollection of it. [He... already mentioned that people can return with memories of what they have experienced. He won't repeat it. If they were abducted, it would mean altering their memory. And then there are those who do not remember their past time here but he hasn't met such a person yet and has no such knowledge.]

The Trainer ID you use to contact someone on their Pokegear... the number no longer will display if they have left this place for good. Otherwise, it is most likely they are missing.
